Praying through the Westminster Shorter Catechism Prayer 13 Westminster Shorter Catechism Q4 Q. 4. What is God? A. God is a spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we humbly come to your throne this morning, thankful that you have invited us to come and set our needs before you. Your gracious invitation proves your goodness and displays your kindness to your people. We know that you are good and that you do all things well. We confess to you that we do not always understand what you are doing. There are times that your acts of providence are hard and difficult. We know that you never err and that you work perfectly through all that you are doing. We know that you have told us that all things work together for good. We are ashamed at how often we worry and waver at the things that you are doing. Forgive us, Lord. Help us to trust you more.
We pray for our world today. We pray for the matters that all of your creatures are facing. We pray that you would be exalted through these dark providences of our lives. We ask that you would bring a speedy end to that which troubles our souls. We pray this in Christs' Name. Amen.
