Daily Prayer for August 5, 2020

Prayer: Our God in heaven, we bless your Name today as the one who has created all things. We stand in awe of your marvelous works as displayed in creation. You daily proclaim your majesty and beauty through the actions of your hands. We observe with amazement the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. You daily paint your marvelous handiwork for all to see. We marvel at the changing of the seasons and the ebb and flow of this life that you care for through acts of divine providence. Though we know these are the works of the one true God, we grieve the fact that so many refuse to see and fail to acknowledge you. Instead, they create for themselves idols and worship the creation instead of the Creator. Be pleased to open their eyes so they may see what your people see. Work in their hearts and minds to make them willingly adore you. Forgive your people, Father, for failing to praise you when we behold your beautiful and marvelous work. Grant to us a greater love for you as we witness your beauty painted across the landscape of this world. We pray this in the Name of Christ, our Lord. Amen.
