Daily Prayer for July 2, 2020

Prayer: We bless your holy Name our God in heaven because you alone are worthy of our adoration and praise. You have created the world in the space of six days and all very good. You made all things by the word of your power, and you direct all things by your sovereign and wise decree. We thank you that you order the affairs of men by your divine providence, working all things for the glory of your great Name and the good of your people, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful that you have not treated us as our sins deserve. In Christ, you see us as holy in your sight -- your treasured possession and the apple of your eye.

Forgive us, Father, for our fickle love for you. We find, at times, serving you to difficult at times. We grieve the remaining sin that dwells within us, preventing us from loving you with our whole heart. We long for that day when we will worship you in perfect holiness and righteousness. Even so, we ask that the Lord Jesus would return quickly.

We pray for your church this morning -- that you would make her beautiful and glorious as the King and Head of the church is beautiful and glorious. Cleanse her from every defect and spot. Bless her labors today. May she do your will on earth as the angels do in heaven. We pray this in Christs' Name. Amen.
