Daily Prayer for October 2, 2019

Prayer: Father in heaven, we cry out to You this day because You alone are God. We know that You hear the cries of Your children. We know that when our hearts are faint, and the cares of this life come rushing in like a flood of waters, You will hear us and respond (Psa. 61). We long to see Your glory and see Your kingdom advance across this world (Matt. 6). We long to behold Your face and see Your beauty and we know that will adore You with our eyes on that great day when the Lord Jesus returns. So, dear Savior, come quickly (Rev. 22). We confess to You that we are creatures of dust. We confess our weakness and failures. We know that we sin daily in thought, word, and deed. We mourn our sin, yet we do not hate it as You do. Help us, by Your Holy Spirit to resist the world, the flesh, and the enemy of our souls. Grant to us Your Holy Spirit that we might not sin against You. Grant to Your church, today, greater love and zeal for Your Word. Help her, as the bride of Your Son, to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matt. 6:33). Watch over Your people today. Hear their cries and answer, O Father. We pray this in the name of Your Son and our Savior. Amen.
